Corryne Shaw

Voice, Guitar, Ukulele

Corryne Shaw has been a musician and performer since childhood. Beginning mandolin at the age of 5, guitar since the age of 12, and becoming and accomplished theatre actor and vocalist, she soon began to realize that her passion was in music and performance.

In college, she began to realize her gift for teaching; she received her associates in Music Education and Performance from John A. Logan College, and then went on to receive her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts degree in Music Education from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. Corryne is also a former Miss John A. Logan College and went on to win talent at the Miss Illinois Scholarship Competition.

She has a strong history in acting and theatre and has performed in such roles as Marian Paroo in The Music Man, and Mary Hatch-Bailey in It’s A Wonderful Life, along with several other roles and theatre accomplishments.

She is an award-winning vocalist, with training in multiple vocal styles which include, opera, musical theatre, pop/contemporary, and others; along with diction training in multiple languages and IPA (the International Phonetic Alphabet). At Market Street Music Conservatory, Corryne plans to combine her passions in music and education to train her students to accomplish their unique musical goals.

 

Corryne is currently the director of music and technology at Marion Aldersgate Church in Marion, IL. She offers private voice, guitar, and ukulele lessons here at Market Street Music Conservatory.
